I currently use the brass glue-in broadhead adapters in my beman mfx 340 shafts topped with 160gr. grizzlies. If I have a failure point it is always directly behind the bevel were the insert goes into the shaft( were it necks down). Does anybody sell a steel glue-in broadhead adapter to correct this problem.

I buy my steel broadhead adapters from Tim @ Braveheart Archery.  Is this what you are talking about.  Have to admit tinkering with adapters is kind of new to me & may not be what you are talking about.

I get all of my 75 and 100 grain steel broadhead adapters from Braveheart Archery.

Does anyone make a 75 grain, 5/16" short steel adapter?  I can't seem to find one.  They all seem to be 11/32".

Hey fellas im also not trying to hijack this thread but i was about to order some adapters for some bear razorheads, but what is the difference between 5/16, and 11/32. Im not sure which to buy.

Coonbait,if you are talking about a steel adapter that glues into the shaft,I don't think so.

There are steel screw in adapters that come in 75 gr,100 gr and 125 gr.When combined with a brass insert,they provide a very strong setup.The only thing to watch for is that there were some problems with the standard 75 gr steel adapters breaking where yours did.This was corrected with the Premium 75 gr adapters so if you stick with those,you should be fine.

ALW,I don't know of any 5/16 steel adapters.If you need them for a 5/16" shaft,the 11/32" ones work well and are what you need.They don't work real well with 5/16" broadheads though.

I don't know how short you need.If you needed them short like for Bear Razorheads,you could grind down 125 gr steel adapters,till you hit 75 grs.That would make the shortest because the 125 is not hollow.

for 5/16 wood shafts I cut a 3" piece of 2213 aluminum shaft and glue it over the wood and use the insert and a screw in B/head. I do the same thing with my carbons to get weight up front.

I've got some Magnus 125gr. vented 4-blade heads that I used in the past.  I'm shooting a heavier broadhead now but I really liked these witht he bleeders and the vented head.  But they take a 5/16" short adapter.  You can get a 5/16" short aluminum adapter (what they come with) but I was wanting to increase the weight to about 175gr.  A 5/16" 75gr. steel adapter would put them right there.  Just can't find them.

I've had bad luck with the 75gr saunders steel adapters.  I just started using them last month with my magnus broadheads and I've snapped a couple.  The last one I snapped was this past weekend, and I only shot a goat with it.  I'm trying the premium steel adapters from 3 rivers now.

Hi Glenn: I just ordered premium steel adapters from 3 Rivers and tipped them with 160 grain and 200 grain Grizzly ElGrande's, they work great. They sell them in 75 and 100 grain, I was told to make sure they are the threaded adapters which they were, I think that is the only ones 3 rivers now sells, you will have to ask, but they are supposed to be super tough. DK.

Thanks guys! Yes I was looking for a glue in steel adapter. I use the steel screw in adapters on my ww's. I might have to try the steel screw-ins onto a brass insert. Just starting to get a little heavy. I'll have to retune if I do. If so I might as well foot them while I'm at it!
