Shot this doe today and man was it an experience.  She turned on me at the last minute and I center punched her hip, cutting the main artery.  Did a lot of praying before I got out of the stand.  I asked the Good Lord to help me find her.  When I got down and started looking, I found a good blood trail.  It stayed good till it hit the dirt road. Then it got light.  I left her for a while because I was not sure about the hit.  When I came back a couple of hours later, I got on the trai. The last sign was on a trail which branched into two different directions.  No sign on either I was beginning to get nervous.  So I said a little prayer, went back to the last spot with sign, and got on my hands and knees to look for blood.  I found a speck of blood to the right of the last piece of sign.  Then another. I realized that the doe had turned off the main trail and taken a trail.  The sign got heavy again and I found her 15 yards into the thick brush.  Please excuse the picture.

For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters.

You can hold your head high. Good job!!

Your job was made tougher because of the hit but it happens.

The most important part is your ethic and it's not lacking IMHO.

Thanks for sharing.

God bless,Mudd

Good job!  Those trails aren't fun, but sure are rewarding when you find the animal!

Way to stay on it!2 years ago i shot a buck under my tree and i put the arrow down between his shoulders and thru his lungs and the broadhead came out the bottom of his chest between his front legs.I had to track that buck on my hands and knees for 4 hours, one small drop of blood at a time until i found him stone dead. That was one tuff buck!As long as i have any sign to track i will not quit until i find the deer or i have done everything i can do to find it.Never give up!
