A real long story short - Back in 2001 just married I sold my very first custom bow, a 64" 62#@28" Schafer Silvertip. I regretted the day I sold it and have thought of that bow many days over the last 9 yrs.

Well I work as a deputy Fire Chief and one of my younger paid guys told me that "hey Kevin's uncle has one of your bows." How do you know it is one of mine I replied??? He says it has your name on "custom made for Jason Baker" This man LIVES in the town I have now worked for for five yrs. My bow has been gone for 9 yrs, and that bow could only be THAT bow. He went on to tell me that he wanted to sell it back to me. This individual I actually knew but had not spoken to in forever. I sent message that I would pay him whatever to get the bow back - well he came in today with that old bow and I paid 100 bucks for it.

I could not be more tickled   :archer:   , Apologized to my old friend (the bow) she is going on a hunt Monday then back to Dave for a refinishing. My current bow is a Schafer Silvertip built exactly like this first one but at 55#s. So now I have two!

The bow now has a new nickname of BOOMERANG!!

No way Gene!!!   :D   this one is staying put from here on - it has a few more deer left in it. Some bows are tools and some have a spirit - this one is definantly got spirit! This was my first custom for me trad bow. So it is special to me.

I will ask Beth or Dave to write "BOOMERANG" on the riser (my hand writing stinks)

Will take some pics - but not tonight --- gotta get things loaded up -

The fact is I met my soon to be wife as she was a UNCW student and I was a dumb fireman/commercial fisherman. She was from Russia original and had to return home. I followed her home the first time and was over there for a month. But when I returned home I went back to working on the boats and firefighting - pullin shifts when I could cause I had lost my slot st the FD. I sold the bow so I could afford to get back to Russia and Her. I spent the next yr or so in Russia. Soon the Russians told me you better leave or we will place you in prison! no brai8ner at that point I had to leave. We were married at that point and I was kicked out the country. Went thorugh all the legal BS of getting here here with me to stay - took some Police friends to get me the pressure on a Senator to get her the OK to come here for good.
Wish Id had took the 10 yrs they offered in Russia over leaving like I had. But then over all this the bow found its way back. Who ever said it they were right ---- HE wanted her to came back to where she belonged.

I'll give you $200, and I don't need to see any pics...
sounds like you have a good friend...
Your Chicken from McDonald's, Tyson Foods, or Perdue Farms spent most of it's life stuffed in a cage with three or four others, occupying a space about the size of a book page...None for me, thanks...

That is a great thing, best of luck hunting that bow this year.
