Such warm responses.

I went and got some supplies yesterday. My bow shops on Friday and so super stoked.

I was at bass pro yesterday. ( the only place remotly near me that sells trad stuff) and was looking at the recurves they have on the wall. I was amazed at how incredibly light they were.

I was looking at the pse razorback because it was what I was originally intending to get since I'm new and wanted a really light bow and light poundage. I was so excited. I can't wait for my slimeline to come in!!!!

Odd ball question. Are limbs interchangeable? For example if I get the razerback and want to later upgrade to heavier bow is that possiable? Or are limbs proprietary and only work with specifics brands? Perhaps there's a weight limit? (probably)

Most of the time, you have to get a whole nother bow, I think that if you just wanted to get another set of limbs for your bow, they would have to be made by the same manufacturer and be for your model bow.
Now that i've said that, there are what they call ILF limbs, I think it stands for International Limb Fitting, and I believe that if you have an ILF bow, any other ILF limbs will interchange with your riser and vice versa.

Here are just a few reputable companies that you will want to contact for a hard copy catalog of great traditional archery supplies...

Enjoy the new journey and welcome to this crazy addiction. Before you know it there may be several different bows on the wall. Let's see:indoor, outdoor, and 3d's are the minimum I'm envisioning.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Hahaha if I really like it I know I'll have at least two different recurves and a long bow. Hehe. That is of course if I can afford it. But well see. Man Friday seems so far away! That's when my bow ships. And even then I don't have arrows for it.  :(  but I'll give it some tlc and go from there.  :)

There are a bunch of trad archers/hunters in FL that I'm sure would be tickled to hook you up with some loaner (or maybe even keeper) arrows to help you get started.  Perhaps some one will come on here (if they are in FL they could get them to you quicker). Not sure if there is a Florida Forum but there may be (check the Forum Home list, down near the bottom for state/club forums also). I have a (lady) friend who used to be real active on here (before a serious health bout) that is in touch with me now and then and I'll touch base with her. She may feel inclined (again - she & her husband used to help many, a heck of a shooter too) or could point you towards someone. No harm in contacting her at any rate.

Have you had the pleasure of eating any wild game?

Like frog legs? They are fun to hunt with a bow and very tasty.
Being from Fla. you have gators that live in the same places that frogs do. I have heard that it tastes good too.

I love wild rabbit and squirrel!

I hope your new bow is everything you want it to be.

God bless,Mudd

I had my first gator meat (stew) this Spring  (courtesy of Cory on a turkey hunt) and it was de-lice-e-ous!

I fired off a e-mail to my old friend - no guarantee - her name is Dina in case she makes contact or refers it to someone else. She was known on here as Country Gal and then later GatorGal (She arrowed a couple of gators) She is a "Hoot" and a fine person (her husband too). I took the liberty of giving her your name and home web site from your bio. (Hope you don't mind.)

Be nice though - her husband is a *huge*, highly effective,  retired Police Officer (and a teddy bear) - LOL. She's a little retired school teacher. Everybody on here and at shoots loved them, individually and as a couple.

Be careful, you will find out that you will need a bow for asunny day, cloudy day, hotsunny day, rainy, windy, snowy, wait a minute ....

Those are all of my reasons(excuses)to the wife for all of the bows on the wall.

As said you just cannt have one...

Welcome and enjoy the fun
