No baiting allowed here. Wondering if anyone has used the bear sense smoke sticks.

If so what do you think?

I have some in Anise and 12 miles of dead fish flavor.
I am hunting a well used white oak that they are hitting hard, but the wind is tricky. Thought maybe the scent sticks would help cover my scent.

Any thoughts?

There is a company called Bear Scents that sells very good scents that work. Can not bait here in NY either but can legally put out up to 2oz. of the scent. Find food they are hitting and use the scent to position them. Blueberry works well for us. Hope this helps

Is there a difference between a rotten stump full of tuna, popcorn and donuts, and something that smells like food???????????Just asking!!   :dunno:

Haven't tried the 12 miles of dead fish but had good luck with the anise. Beaver castor works even better.

2 oz? How does the CPO decide who uses 2oz. and who uses more? Hap

Ron,
Guess the difference is one is legal and one is not.
Have no idea how they decide or how they came up with 2oz. but that is what I was told is legal by the DEC officer & the Ranger.

Have used twelve mile of dead fish Did not work to well. Anise worked very well. They also have one that is donut smell and one that is berry. They work alright but the anise is best in my opinion. Jim Pyles

Strawberry jello packs mixed with water and poured on a tree works pretty well...  Com'on who don't like jello?

I dont see much difference between scents for food an scents for love!  If its ok for deer then why not bears?

I have pondered the same question you have asked and thats all I have come up with so far.      :archer:

In Alaska our infamous fish and game integrated scent sticks, sprays or anything that is an artificial attractant into the same regulation category as a bait station.  You must register it,,yadayadayada...........and have a permit to do it...
