It seems to be addictive, I was doing some research, looking into where I may go hunting next year. after talking to a friend in Arkansas about a hunt next year, I get a call asking when I can be packed. I told him it would be a while, probably take at least an hour. He said to soon but two weeks would work,he has a friend who is running baits and has an extra bait and bunk in the cabin and I was welcome to both. I only know of one way to respond to that, so I am putting in for vacation and packing for my 2nd ever Bear hunt, both in the same year.   :campfire:

i can get ready in an hour, now that's funny, you are hooked, it's easy, ain't it? i agree it's hard to judge size the first day out. there are different ways to help you. my second bear i passed up a shot, thought he was about 100 or 130 lbs., he came down the trail by my stand, came back by, raised up on my tree,( i was thinking, this blackwidow was expenseive, but if climbs this tree i'm gonna wear you out.) he went back to the bait bucket, i drilled him. when me and my guide found him, he picked up his head and said, this is a big #*#* sucker. turned out to be 350 lbs. sadly i didn't get any better at judging, my last one was 135 lbs. the best of luck, lucky! about an hour would be right for me to, give me a call.

Made it back from my hunt last night, I guess it was due paying time, on my first hunt I killed on the 2nd evening. This time I got to spend 4 days on stand in the Ozark mountains which was a treat. the only down side was everything seemed to be moving at night. all the action on the baits came at night and a friend that was deer hunting was not seeing anything moving in the day either. I did have a great time but saw no bears and very little movement of anything. I did wonder at a dead  squirrel that I saw on the way in one morning that was gone when I came out until a friend told me it probably had been hit by a Rattler who was tracking it as I went in, I walked a little slower and watched much closer.
