In anticipation of October 1st, I've just finished making up a set of arrows and installing broadheads. I numbered each arrow and then hand picked the broadheads to match each arrow. After installing the broadhead, I took the arrow out and shot it several times. Each time making a note of how the arrow flew and where it struck in relation to the 1" square piece of tape I had placed on the target. Then I repeated the process with each individual broadhead and arrow.
After reviewing my notes, I placed the arrows in order according to their respective accuracy and repeated the shooting and note taking process. Then after reviewing my notes, I repeated the process for the third time. Now that my psychosis
has been partially satisfied, I can place the arrows in my quiver according to their rankings. The most consistent shooting arrow taking the priority spot as to be the first arrow drawn during the hunt. Am I the only nut on here and do I need to go back and a have a few more sessions with the venerable Dr. Seuss?     :knothead:

You're not alone bud, I do just about the same process, then I'll sharpen all 8 of my broadheads to where I wind up with no hair on my arms.

Yup welcome to the asylum.

Same here. I have always been a firm believer in never letting my equipment be the excuse for a miss, or poor hit. That is just one more way to take that part of the eqaution out..................wierd-o! I would rather hear about this than see that guy we all do every season, you know the one with 4 different spines of different lengths, some with 4" vanes, some with 5" feathers and not a sinlge broad head that matches in the quiver. Be a psychotic I say!

What I have been too embarrassed say before now is these are the fourth set of arrows I've done this with since mid August...   :banghead:

There is an old saying, "Whatever floats your boat". I shoot aluminum arrows so after the broadhead is mounted to the arrow, I just get them to spin without any wobble and I'm good to go. But, I like very heavy arrows GPP wise out of my low poundage bows. So, this is the other side of the coin if you get my drift.

Only problem.
I don't have a Robin Hood hat.

So call me a nut in disguise in this sane world.

o you're not nuts. I have 4 doz. Ready to go and play with and check them daily.
To me the process of getting ready for season is just as much fun as the season. Putting equipment together and fine tuning everything and all the while dreaming of what could be through the season. I enjoy every little part of this sport.

Ric. . .  I think that is a silly question.  To many folks out there, my wife included. .  we are ALL psychotic or we wouldn't be centering our whole lives around what we do here.

We are what we are.  Enjoy it, it ends all too soon.

You are really starting to scare me...  Do you mean to tell me that's not normal behavior??   :help:

I'm feeling a little woozy, gonna go get a glass of water and lie down...  Then spin test some more arrows!
