Hi,
I've been looking into using banana cut feathers.
But they seem to be big 5in+. Are they only good in the bigger size as I wanted to make some up at 4in X 3, the shield feathers I use are 4in and I am happy with the way the arrow fly with them so should I use 5in plus or 4in.??
Thanks for your time.

I use 4x3in banana cut and I get great flight with large 2 blade broadheads and are sooo quiet.

if you were not so far away i would let you borrow my bannana chopper so you could try a few.i haven't had the chopper long but the feathers i have made did ok.i think i would like them a little smaller.my chopper makes them 5 3\\4.i think they are on the big side.good luck, steve

I burn mine at 5 3/8", so I cannot give good advice about 4"ers, but you are correct when you say Bananas are so very quiet

I use 4-4" banana cuti get great flight and yes they are quiet. Get a chopper and modify it as told in the how to section. Very easy and a lot of ways to do it. Good luck.

That's interesting, when I tried bananas, I thought they were very loud.  I now use 3x4" shields and have no problems.

Herb's Archery in Canada makes a chopper that cuts 4" banana style feathers.  Got one a few months back and am very pleased with results.  I use a 4 X 4" fletch, and have had no problems with flight or noise.

I think the high backs tend to be louder than low profile. At least to my deaf ears.
