I like the northern lights for timber or treestand use.  I just have yet to buy one yet but I plan to.

Wapiti, that's the pattern I'd LOVE to have, but as you said it's no longer available.  Sniff. I  tried to get evening stand brown in an extra large yesterday(thought it would look good sitting in a pine thicket) but it was out of XL.  Drag.

SO I got some shafts from Big Jim today instead lol.  I'll just stick with my LaClair Longhunter shirt though it's too warm for early season.  I'll get a GFA one eventually.

None really break up your outline and deer don't see the colors, so it doesn't really matter. They are great for comfort, warmth and function.

nothing beats a medium colored grey for the woods,,,, another trad shooter here locally told me that grey is the natural camo of the woods---> you guys know what that Fall deer fur color is right and you know how they disappear if you take your eyes off them,, this all made sense to me and I was told to never ever wear Black because it stands out especially in the trees.

with all that being said,,, how heavy is the material of his pull overs,, is it really warm for the North east say 20 degree temps and a 5mph breeze or is it more for the southern cold 40 degree temps.
As far as the weight of the material, it does vary with the pattern.  Best to call Teresa and discuss with her.  I just got a timber ghost vest a few weeks ago (the lightest weight I think - course I'm in TX) and it is great.  I might be able to justify a pullover next year...

I just emailed back and forth with Teresa about that very subject, and this is the reply I got:

" Most of my plaid wool is 20 oz.  I will have the Timber Ghost in 16 oz. and 20 oz. this winter.  The solid brown and gray is about 26 oz.  The olive drab is 18 to 20 oz. "

how about the macinaw versions is that like a filson double macinaw (sp?) so maybe its doubled with the 20oz?

I like to take a wool pullover and put one of the wool vest over it. 40 + ounces of wool for less than $100! Try to duplicate that for the cost!

I like the northwest plaid far more than I thought I would...a very dark red and black pattern.

Still don't know how the neck raw hide strings are supposed to be used. I don't see it in any pictures.
