I've been shooting the no longer made 145 grain Bear Razorheads for years, but am always trying different heads in the off season, I've had my eye on the woodsman heads for awhile, while alot of guys I know like switching around shooting different bows, I'm more into tinkering on and off shooting different broadheads! What kind have luck have you all had good or bad with the use of the woodsman broadheads, both in the flight with and without wind and with use on big game in the field? Please also let me know which style and weight you are using. Thanks, DK.

I have been shooting Woodsmans since they first came out. I use the 125 grain glue ons, onto aluminum shafts swaged on both ends. This creates a very solid arrow setup. The arrows fly true, with 5 inch fletching, typical alignment of three, cock feather out. My experience has been that whatever I have shot at, it has ended up dead. They are efficient, fly well, and sharpen easily. No worries, and complete confidence in the broad head. That's all I look for.

I`ve used woodsmans about the last four seasons. Really like them for deer. they seem to fly well, I shoot 125gr. glue ons with 75gr. steel adapters on 2018`s, total wt. around 620gr.Pass thru on most of the 15 or so deer I`ve taken with them.It takes me a little more time to get them sharp as compared to the zwickeys I used before, but all in all I would recommend them.

I use them with wood arrows for deer and have had excellent results. Nice blood trails and good penetration. When filed to a chisel point they are very strong.

I started out with woodsmans 2 years ago and then I read too much and changed up to two blades then to single bevels. Wasn't getting whata I wanted as far as blood trails so I went back to the woodsmans.
I did stay with the heavy arrows and EFOC and the last 4 critters I've put in the freezer have been with woodsmans. Full pass thru shots. heard every one of the critters crash. Blood trails a blind man could follow.

Been using since they came out. The factory grind leaves much to be desired, plenty of work to get them ready and a few will never spin true.

That being said 5 Bull Elk one Bear two Deer and some turkeys sure didn't like them, Great bloodtrails!

I have been using the 150's out front of 2018s. They sure to get to the other side of deer in a big hurry.

They also as mentioned above, fly very well and leave as good as a blood trail as you can hope for.

They take a bit work when it comes to getting them hunting sharp. But all the 3 blade heads do, the end result is well worth it.

I hunted with the originials for a couple of seasons and killed a couple deer with them.  They shoot and fly beautifully, and I found them very easy to sharpen well.

I've been in on the recoveries of four Woodsman killed deer, incl my two.  Only one left a blood trail, mostly due to shot placement, but nothing made it over 50 yards, either.

I recently started shooting some VPA Terminators.  Same dimensions, but heavier.  I like them.

I know many who like them. I had a terrible experience with them and will not use them again. JMO

I use them on the Axis shafts and get excellent results. I use the weighted ones on the 400s and am trying the 100 grainers on some 500s this year. I found a site which sells a package of the elites for fifteen bucks and that's half of what most charge.Very accurate shooting broadheads.

My small experience is paradoxical. I believe it was the wrong broadhead on a large quartering-away boar, which was lost as a result of poor penetration despite good placement with heavy gear that flew well. However, on another marginal hit on a small sow, I believe the extra cutting helped to recover her.

My wife bought me some of the 125gr. screw in for my Gold Tip Trad 35/55's as a early B-day pressent.

Sharpening isn't that bad since I'm used to a Magnus Snuffer & they spin true to my shafts every time & for the last 2 weekends I've tried em on the practice range for tuning & they hit the same spot as my target points do "as long as I do my part"    even when I purposly get my feathers wet.

I can't wait till opening season when that Doe or Buck crosses my path.

I'm a die hard Zwickey Delta 4 blade guy and have killed the overwhelming majority of my game with them....and I've killed a few critters with a smattering of other broadheads....but I think the Wensel is a really the best 'all around' head.  One the the testing I've done on 3 different mediums, they out penetrate some 2 blades.


Now these pics don't include the dozens of bunnies I've taken with a blunted Wensel....I LOVE modified wensels as small gamers.

I have been using the 150 gr. screw-in the past 2 seasons and really like them. They fly really good and great penetration and bloodtrail. May take me a little longer to get them shaving sharp than some of the others.

I've killed both whitetails and feral hogs with the Wensel head. Impressed by the blood trail it leaves. With that said I also have been hunting with the Bear Razorheads for years. Recently ordered a pack of Ace Standard 160 grain heads. Can't wait to hunt with this head, this year. Reminds me of a tougher version of the old Bear Razorhead.

A good all around head that mounts and flys well. Does take some time to sharpen and as mentioned above, chisel the point down as the needle point curls easily.

i used a 140gn 2 blade magnus to take my 1st big game animal ( kudu bull ,2006 ) then i changed to 150gn screw in woodsman`s ( original`s ) went back to africa last year & took 2 more kudu cows with 2 arrows ,bloodtrails like a watering can !!!! i love em & will use them again next year .
