I want to add some weight to my cedars. I'm thinking about footing the shaft with some brass. Does anyone know what caliber will provide a good fit over a 23/64" shaft? I'm using 135gr. Zwickeys and have a bunch of them so really don't want to start buying heavier broadheads. Thanks in advance.

.357 caliber might fit ok but it won't add much weight.  A better alternative might be to add some lead shot in the ferrule...Van

Yes a 38 or 357 will fit with a little sanding. Just keep it round..........JohnB

I use .357 maximum brass because they are longer and weigh a little more. I use these instead of judo heads and they work pretty good. Not as unloseable (is that a word) as a judo but they do pretty good. I bought 500 of them from Cabela's a few years ago and I think it was a lifetime supply. If I want to add some weight I put some 7 1/2 chill lead shot in first with some glue. I also use the yellow looking glue sticks because they seem to hold better. Gary

I tried the .357 and they don't add much weight. They actually fit the 11/32" much better. I was hoping for some rifle type brass that might fit for the added length and weight. Tried the lead in the ferrule and it really didn't do what I was hoping for. Theres gotta be something that will work, I'll just keep looking.

Do you want to add the weight to the point or the entire shaft?  If the latter, soak them in Watco oil for a week or so.  That will add 75 or more grains to a 23/64 shaft.  Watco is a furniture finishing oil.  It's available at a lot of hardward stores.
