Friends call me Pac

This is the Friends call me Pac brand.

Picked up a pair of tan Docker pants for $3.00 at Goodwill today.  Had a plan to experiment with tie dyeing.  Never tried it before but I think this turned out really nice.  I can see this blending in while in my treestand or wearing my ghillie while on the ground.  Should be a lot cooler than jeans come Oct 1

That is an awesome idea.  I think I'm gonna have to try that with my scout suit.  What kind of dye did you use?

Friends call me Pac

I used dark brown Rit dye.  Bought it at the local grocery store.

Goodwill is having a sale Saturday.  $4 for a trash bag load of clothes.  I'm should get enough to be set for the season for not very much $$.  If they get torn or trashed not out of much money.

I tied a simple overhand knot anywhere I could. Had 2 knots on each leg and managed to tie part of 1 leg around the top of the pants. Guess the pattern is pretty much luck of the draw.

Hey Pac you might try using some large rubber bands to hold the material that's been twisted then doubled, multiple folding.. then hold in place with rubber bands or tied together tightly with string.

What you did looks good! I was just wondering if you could get larger patterns if you folded it too?

Small patterns tend to blend away at shorter distances, then they look like a solid again.

Good idea all the way around Pac!!

Thanks for sharing!

PS: Can you pm me the link to Arkansas's seasons, license, ect, ect, ect... thanks!

I wasn't going to try this until today.  Couldn't go to sleep so I got up and began the experiment.  No rubberbands to be found so I did the next best thing, tied the knots in the pants.  I figured if I messed them up I was only out three bucks.

It's going to be a long day with no sleep.  Who knows what I will come up with next while in a state of delerium.

I'm glad the wife's big pot that I used has a black lining and that she didn't wake up during the experiment..

Funny taste?  Tastes fine to me.  Maybe you put to much garlic in there again.   :saywhat:

LOL on the pot/wife thing. Just tie/dye, huh? I thought about that but it didn't quite look like it to me. Came out neat in any case.

Suggestion - next time you go to Goodwill, get yer own cheap, ol' big pot (cheaper than hospital bills or a divorce - I know our retirement checks protect us from wife-ly mayhem to some degree - but let's not be careless out there -     :D    )

Oh man Pac this is awesome.  I have five pairs of tan dockers laying around from going to the police academy here in SC 6 years ago that I'm gonna try this on.  Thanks for sharing and love the comment about about the wife's pot   :biglaugh:

Don't worry Bernie I was real careful.  She retired with one more stripe than me and still pulls rank on me even in retirement. After all these years married to her I have refined sneaky to stay out of trouble.

For Tye Dying use Tulip Dye it cost $2.99 her in Michigan.  My wife picks it up at Meyer, Michael's & Hobbie Lobby.  They have Black, Brown & different Greens to choose from.  I thought of this this summer also while my wife was having a tye dye party with her friends and all of thier kids.  Just make sure when you was your creation that you do it by itself for a while or you will dye some clothes.  I have learned from experience.  Also the Rite-dye will fade and not hold color, I wouldn't waste your money on Rite.  The only way to go is Tulip Dye.
