When you shoot a 3 pc bow you don't really need a back-up bow... just a spare set of limbs with specs. very close to the ones you plan on using.          I have a Shawnee/Dakota set up just that way [ 2 sets of Dakota "D" longbow limbs.. 1@57# and 1@58# ]..sure makes the planning simple.            and saves space in the luggage for extra long underware for those cold Moose hunts      :biglaugh:

The thing about Jason's and my setups is we can shoot each others and John's is very close too.

So we are each others backup bows.

Moose hunting is a blast. Have fun. Good Luck!
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Wingnut, how are you liking those actionwood limbs? Hope you and Jason get so much meat you can't hardly get it all out.

Have a great time and remember what Rod taught us when the moment arrives.

Actually we have switched from maple to AW for our basic core wood and I like it a lot.  It's not bamboo but it's a lot better then maple.

Hope you have a wonderful adventure and anxiously await the tale told here with hero pics.

What is the current turn around time for a set of longbow limbs?

Good luck Mike!! Tell Jason to watch out for you!

You have one of the coolest sons ever in that young man.

I wish I could find my grapevine back quiver he made for me when he was still a youngster. I put it up... somewhere...lol

Good hunting too!

God bless,Mudd

The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

Good luck Mike! Give me a shout when you guys get to Tok if you have a chance. I may be out early in the general season. I'm leaving later today for the early hunt that opened yesterday & closes this saturday. As you may already know caribou opens the 29th for the area that you are moose hunting but it might be already closed by the time that you get here. Later...

John,

Send me a PM with your phone number so I can give you a call.  Also might need to unloads some moose meat if we get real lucky.

Mike - Sent you a couple of emails including answering your caribou question. Moose meat is always accepted. My buddy Terry has a cooler & freezer set up for chilling meat & storage if you need it. 40 Mile has his number posted there.

Have fun playing tourist. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for you. Its raining some here today so I expect to get a bit soaked going in to my camp this afternoon.

Later - John
