Has anyone ever heard of Vintage Works - Kodiak Replicas? From their site it looks like that make pretty true replica Bear Kodiak bows from 1959 - 1962. Does anyone have any experience with these bows? They look pretty sweet!

Bit of a wait period from what I hear but they do make some very nice bows. I have been thinking about them myself

I don't have any experience but I have heard good things and they seem to look the most like the originals plus I thought the cost was very reasonable,$550.

I just ordered one of the '59 Hybrids about a month ago and it is supposed to be done in February.I'm really looking forward to this one.

Pete,

I don't have one (just the real things), but I do know a couple of guys that have them.  First off......they are very easy on the eyes.......secondly.....the guys that ordered them are in love with them!

Check with Rich Lopez (droptine59).  I think he just received his '64 replica......let's just say it will take your breath away!

The only ones I have seen them produce were a '59, '64, '65 Kodiak.

Scott (Vintage Works) talked to me at the beginning of the month about more medallions.
I have found him to be nothing but a straight shooter

I am not sure about the web site deal though

Great looking bows for sure

Are they a sponsor here? This thread seems an awful lot like an ad from where I stand.

Juan, no they are not a sponsor to my knowledge but non the less a bow worth talking about.

PeteA, I have a 59' replica from Scott (Vintage Works) and I also had an original 59'. All I can say from my experience is that the VW replicas shoot better than the original. Scott made some minor modifications in his design that although they still closely mimic the original, IMO really improve performance.
And like others have said, some real eye candy to boot at a decent price. From what I'm seeing it looks like he has a good bit of work right now.

No ad here, just my stated opinion.

Guys,
I just heard of Ed Holcomb replicas last night as a fellow here and I work on a trade.  When I started searching TradGang for information on Mr. Holcomb's bows I found this thread. So, at least my digging up the thread has nothing to do with an "ad".  I'm just doing some research.

Not having much luck either.  Can't find a web site that works for either fellow.  Have seen some very nice pictures while do the search though.

Wow so we are not supposed to discuss boyers who are not sponsors?
Seems like "most" everyone was trying to answer a question

I don't think it is OK to post links to non-sponsor web sites but there are several non sponsor bows being discussed right now on Pow Wow.Vintage Works Bows has a new site and it isn't hard to find if you do a search. My bow is in the works right now.I will get pictures up after it arrives.
