When I sit, I sleep.  Its on the ground and moving slow for me.  I have used stands occasionally, both tree and ground and probably will again from time to time.

Any way you hunt, either on the ground or in a tree is better than sitting at home.

Ill be doing quite a bit of hunting from this blind.I have a ladder very close to this blind but I think Ive been patterned by the deer the last couple of seasons. This blind is deeper and now a little higher than what you see in the pic.Ive killed a mess of deer from this hill from the ground but the landownr had it logged several years ago and wouldnt you know my old oak tree that I used to sit against fell victim to the chainsaw.

i don't have a suit, but i will be hitting the ground in brown pants and a brown plaid shirt.i almost got one last year this way, maybe this year i will be luckier.i was 10 foot from two does,at the last minute they busted me.a suit might better my chances, but i am tring to go old school.i don't care if i get one or not.good luck this season, steve

I am a ground hunter. Something about being at their level that makes it exciting for me. I haven't thought of a ghillie suit yet, I like ShapeShifter camo right now. I wish I could find that pattern again, mine is getting a bit faded.

Going to be doing both ground and air. Probably hunt tree stand early season, blind is just too hot until it cools up

I'm "grounded "this year due to medical issues but I'm looking forward to it as a new opportunity.Have'nt missed Ohio opening day in 25yrs .Not about to let a bad hip change that.

I've been on the ground the last 2 years and realy enjoy it. Havent' had any luck yet but I've had deer so close I could reach out and touch them. I don't have a ghillie suit but the leafy wear works really good.. planing on being there again this year! Good Hunting to all you ground hunter's, Jason

I was just saying to my buddy today that I really enjoyed hunting more when I first started about 35 yrs. ago.(Hard to believe it's been that long!) I'd just walk in with my recurve and a small stool. Over the years I started carrying treestands and allot of other junk. Last year I was back to just the curve and the seat. I didn't get a buck but I did have a nice 8 pointer bed down just out of my range. I'll be on the ground again this year.

Obama,what a joke!

I've never used a tree stand for deer or elk, always moving on the ground.
Do not use a hatchet to remove a fly from your friend's forehead...when your longbow with a blunt will work!

WTT03

From the ground 95% of the time, but I never rule out the treestand if the location calls for it.

I'll be hunting from the air more than the ground, although I did hunt from the ground this past Thursday. I was about 12 yds from several does and had a large buck hang up about 40 yds out. It wasn't deer season yet, but it was fun to sit....too bad a hog didn't walk out.

I practiced a few longbow draws and felt very confident. I can't wait for season to get here.

levibear

The ground is where I learned and it is mostly where I will stay  :archer:

Gound hunting is the best way to experience the hunt. Very exciting when you get within 10 yards of a deer. I wouldn'thunt any other way.

You don't really need the gullie suit. Just watch your movement and hunt the wind and they will never know your there.

Good Luck on the ground this year.

I've harvested probably 3/4 of the bucks with the bow in my time from the dirt.Either from drives or still or stalking.Still have my Screaming Eagle loc-on for scrape huntin though.Fun time is windy/rainy in the corn fields,or tracking snow.

I hunt almost exclusively from the ground. Even when I use a tree stand I usually only have it a foot or two off the ground. Using a tree stand this way in a ground blind provides a quiet and comfortable platform that helps to avoid upsetting the ground causing noise or changes in scent.

I hunt a 1,500 private lease and i have over 15 lock-ons hung all around the property.

I just can't sit still long enough to be hunting on the ground.

The few times i have hunted on the ground was out of my buddies ground blind, im 6,2 and really long armed and i just can't pull it off.

soxbow

I hunt up down and all around. Good luck
