Does anyone have experience with this scale? I thought mine was right on the money for a long time, but I recently got a new bow and proceeded to check the dw on it. It looked to be about 5#'s lighter than it should. I started checking my other bows, and they too are coming up around 5#'s light (2-3# on my kids 20-30#ers).

I can hang 50# of steel plates on it, and it reads exactly 50#...what gives??   Any ideas??

are you going by the back side of the bow to 28" (if it's marked 28")

Yep, I'm using 28" to the back side of the riser and also measuring to the deepest part if the grip (minus 1 3/4")...usually the same measurement.

I'm no where near the marked weights no matter how I measure them.

Are you talking about the spring model?  I've had problems with mine too. I've switched to digital scales.

The spring in my scale used to do some weird things.  Some days I would have to yank on the scale a few times to get it to read correctly. It's as if the spring wouldn't seat correctly. Does your scale have an adjustment knob/screw for calibration/adjustment?  I also tried to keep the spring/unit oiled.  I just gave up after awhile.   :D

Yes, mine has the adjustment knob. I'll go try to oil the spring and see if that helps any.....thanks.

I think he meant the "back of the bow" as in not, the belly.  It seems to contradict with your riser comment if I am reading correctly.

Heck, if it were me I would pull this thread.

If you are hanging your scale from the string then you will need to add the weight of the scale to the pulled weight. When you hang the scale you are putting the scale weight on the string starting your draw before you actually pull. Make sense?

Terry, I have the scale hanging solid. I hook the string on the scale hook and pull down holding only the bow grip.
