I got my first ever Robin Hood today. I was only shooting at 10 yards, but it was still pretty cool!   :archer2:

seabass

I never got one either but my wife has two of them. Not good for a mans ego.   "[dntthnk]"

I have had a few and let me tell you that the first one is cool after that they just ruin your arrows.  Robin Hood only did it to win a tournament, doubt he would have otherwise.

Eric i'm sorry that must be bothering you about your wife getting one, you're starting to repeat yourself..lol

Now that you know you can do it, the trick now becomes putting it  as close as possible without doing it again.

Congratulations.  I've never had a Robin Hood with trad gear but I've clipped several nocks and stripped a lot of feathers.

jsweka

I've busted nocks, but never split the arrow.

I have a compound buddy at work that put one carbon inside another and had to bring them to work to show off. He was as proud as a peacock. So I had to ask, "Was the first one dead center in the bull?"  His response was "No it was a couple inches to the right."  I then said, "Well, that just means you screwed up twice."  Everyone around the lunch table roared.

Congrats on robbon hood they feel great big confidence booster if you can do it once it can be done again.

doubleo

I've done it 3 times. Twice with aluminum and once with carbon arrows. You have to have perfect arrow flight and a lot of luck.

My 13 year old son came in last summer with a long face and said "Dad, I messed up an arrow"...he was bummed because I had gotten on to him for taking long shots & losing GT 1535s.

I walked out to see and he was shocked when I gave him a hug & high five for his first Robin Hood! He had seen the movie where old Howard split the arrows, but had never heard heard of it happening with modern stuff.

My son Robin Hooded one of my arrows a couple of weeks ago. He was all excited until I explained it does not count when it's in the 8 ring. he still tells the story, minus the 8 ring thing.
