Apex Predator

I only hunt with Apex Predator bows now  :) , but last year I killed this hog with a Howatt Hi-Speed.  They are great bows!

I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

How about this one, a 1968 Howatt Monterey. Built on the same form as a Hunter. 62" and 49 # 28". Sweet shooter and the favorite of all my Howatts. It was responsible for the demise of 4 whitetails last year and will be in my hands this year as well. I also have 5 Hunters including a 1966, 45# @ 28" , and a 1967 52# @ 28" that I'm re-finishing now. Both with brazilian rosewood. I have 2 with shedua risers and one purpleheart. My favorites are the 1960's models with the brazilian rosewood.

Did someone say Howatts?? Here's a partial rack including a Hi Speed, Coronado, Super Diablo, and a couple of 60's Diablo's.

I shoot a 55# Howatt Hunter all the time. From shooting indoor burlap target face, outdoor 3-D,deer hunting in the fall,to bow fishing in the spring,my Hunter is all I use. It's not as pretty as it was when I bought it new 11 years ago,but has become very familiar to me.

Whip

No wonder I'm having trouble finding the Howatt I want.  Hatrick has them all!  :banghead:    :biglaugh:

In the end, it is not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln.

The Monterrray and Ventura are my favorites.I guess I got to get me another one.

Whip, in that case, I guess I better not post a picture of the rest of them...   :D

This will be my first traditional archery hunting season.  I've been shooting for about a year and a half, and have become pretty proficient with my Damon Howatt Hunter.  I'm not sure the year it it was made, but it is 62 AMO and 55#@28, which I draw to 31.  I'll be using the 3-R Hunter POC arrows and 125 grain Zwickey Eskimo broadheads.  No matter what the outcome, it will be a fantastic fall in the Ohio forests.

Wish my Damon Howatt Hunter was heavier but I'm saving the 40#'ner for senior years. Better yet, I'll string it and go a field....
