I had a friend pick this up for me at a g sale. Bear Polor 38# 66". No twists, but glass has some stress cracks on both sides. Is this shootable? If so what length string,62"? if not will be a wall hanger!

I don't see anything in the pictures that would stop me from putting a string on it. I would watch it closely as I gave it some test pulls and if that worked out, I'd sure be flinging an arrow out of it.

That's just my opinion.

God bless,Mudd

To me it looks like it was in the heat of someones attic, but laying flat!

Most of the stuff in the pics looks like cracks in the finish to me... I'd start real slow, pulling to half or less draw, and work my way up to full draw, resting the bow a bit, listening and feeling for any problems.

Hopefully, someone like bowdoc will see this and give you an "expert" opinion!!!

A subtle play on words is better than a poke in the eye.

You can fill those cracks with Locktite precision max. those are just drying cracks . string it up and work the bow a bit befor you pull it completely. I would bve getting a 63 in string . You can always twist it jup a bit.

just be careful at first, then let one fly

I dont think that bow will be happy unless you let an arrow loose through it after all these years
I'm drinking from a saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed

Stress cracks in the limb glass are common in old Bears.  The crazing in the finish will not affect anything.  Shoot away.  58" long string.

62 or 63 in string for a 66 in bow.
