I recently got my 42# bow tuned where it will shoot lights out with a 32" BOP, 2215 aluminum arrow with a 205 grain tip weight. Does anyone shoot the 2 blade Ace Express 165 grain broadhead? Is it easy to sharpen and does the tip curl if it hits bone? With a 42 grain Magnus long broadhead adapter, this will get me up to my 205 grain tip weight since it'll come in around 207 grains.

Ace are very easy to sharpen and won't let you down.

NW I have never handled the Ace Express (strait edge) but I have some Ace Standards in 165 glue on.
The tip on the Standards is like triple laminated. It is the beefiest tip that Ive ever seen on a head.  I'll send you one if you wanna try it just lemme know.

The standard is not quite as wide but its incredibly beefy.

Good luck

Thanks for the offer on the Ace Standard, but I like the looks of the straight edge Express. It looks wicked.             I have some 160 grain straight edge STOS, but they hit slightly left at 20 yards from where I'm looking with the 2215 aluminum arrow. When I put a 5 grain brass weight collar behind the 160 grain STOS, they hit dead on where I'm looking at 20 yards. I just don't want to put a 5 grain brass weight collar behind the STOS broadhead. The 165 grain Express should solve this slight problem. And as a bonus the Express is 1/4" longer and 3/16" wider too than the STOS. Shot from my 42# bow, it will give me 14.52 grains per pound (GPP). Should be a devastating arrow/broadhead setup for me.

My experience with Ace heads    Spin true, fly great, sharpen easily. Great price too.

Awesome, thats my head for this year for elk and then bear when i return to MN! Im shooting it out of my Bear Montana longbow, #55@28" with it riding on a 480gr Douglas Fir arrow for a total weight of 645gr! I have tried a few methods of sharpening them, and the way i like to sharpen them is with a KME and a set of "old" Norton stones! I start with a back and forth motion on the coarse stone with moderate/heavy pressure to get the bevel goin and then i reduce the pressure as i reduce the coarseness of the stone! I finally finish off with a good stropping on a piece of flat cardboard! They are deadly when they are sharpened, i kinda get a hybrid of the "old" Fred Bear edge and a razor blade! They hold an edge too, i sharpened a few up the other day and shot them into a bear target, and they had an edge after a few shots that was worthy to hunt with! As far as tip modifications, i put a "mini" Tanto Tip on them with a Nicholson file, used the technique that Dale Karch used to put a diamond tip on a WW on the 3rivers website!!!

ACE standard 160 is the one you want.  You won;t be dissapointed. Just a few strokes with a mill bastard file and they will shave hair.

Yea... I gotta agree with the ACE... Tough as hell and easy to sharpen...

I've shot the 165 Express for several years and have never damaged one.  I put a simple "tanto" type point on them.  Very good head IMO and one that you can use with confidence.
