Keep it, no amount of money is worth selling a bow that has you shooting groups like that!

Keep it. Otherwise, you'll be able to add posts to threads here that start out "Bows I regret selling"...Been there, done that.

I think I know the bow you are speaking of.  It was a great shooter and a looker to boot.  I was actually shocked to see it go up for sale so quick after the previous guy bought it.

You could keep it and rent it to he store owner. It would be a win win for everybody  :goldtooth:

I remember reading years ago that Rocky Miller, who made bows under the name Heritage Bows was quoted as saying that occasionally he would build a bow for someone that "he couldn't miss with" in his test shooting.  He built some great bows, and obviously used the same formula for each one; however, even he admitted that there was "magic" in some. When I get a bow that I shoot that well, I keep it. Not all bows are created equal, even from the same bowyer.
And in the end of our exploring we shall return to the place where we started and know that place for the first time.

I bought a Foley Take down longbow last summer and it is an awesome shooter.  I wasn't going to buy it at first but my dad gave me some good advice:

"well you could save up and order one, but i've done that and the bow i got didn't shoot as well as the one I tried"

Last year i would have doubled my money to pay off some credit cards.  This year i wouldn't be willing to do such a thing, lol.

I say unless the money is needed keep the bow, the regret of selling is probably more costly than turning down such a fantastic deal!

I'm bringing this thread back up, after doing some searches here for Foley.

I shot this particular bow just recently last week, it was almost Zen-like. And watched the owner shoot it as he says, he stacked 'em for sure. He ain't just whistling dixie.

It impressed me (and everyone else) so much that I'm thinking of getting one sometime later on, after chatting with Ron Foley recently. This particular bow just shot where you looked, something I've never quite experienced even with a few better bows, (mostly recurves).

If I could get assurance that a new Foley longbow just like this one would shoot the same, it would be a slam dunk, I'd do it tomorrow. But I gotta recon this a bit more.

What do ya'll think, would a copy by a great builder like Foley pretty much come out the same? I'd hate to spend major bucks otherwise. Looking for some warm fuzzy feedback here. LOL

ps: stickbowmaniac: I'm glad you kept it. Its easily worth twice that offer you got. Remember that...

I would probably agree....even an exact match from Ron may not shoot/feel the same for you.  I would probably keep it.....Oh who am I kidding! What about my reputation says I would keep it...   :knothead:      :D

I think you made the right choice.

If it still shoots that well for you after two weeks, it's worth more than $600, and it will save you far more than $600 in the long run.

Way more likely to keep it if I enjoyed the bow. Some bows are just plain fun to shoot.
