What effect does it have on your bow if you take it from your air conditioned house to 95 degrees outside for some shooting? I've been doing it and so far so good but I was wondering if it's ok for the bow.

Depends if it is laminated or wood.  A wood bow isn't really effected by heat unless the humidity is up.  Laminated, very little to none unless you set your bow in the sun for several hours.  If your bow is hot to the touch, do not shoot it or attempt to string it.  Heat is the killer, it does bad things to glue.  Bill

Well with some of the humidify we are having, it breaks out in a sweet just like me. I just keep them on the rack in the shop so they don't get too soft setting around in the AC all day.

i know my string has streched almost an inch after i had it in the heat at a shoot,it was on the bow for 6 mos.prior to it stretching...guess i need to learn to make my own

I like to warm up my self bow before I shoot. It is in the basement and the temp. is 30 degrees colder. I let it warm up. I read Howard Hill used to rub down his bows before he shot.

I've shot my longbows in the heat of the summer without any problems,I just don't leave them in direct sunlight.That can put a hurting on your bows.

I'm, putting my trad shop inside of my garage, and unless the outside temp is extreme, the only thing going with be circulating fans.

I E mailed this question to the bowyer and he said it's ok to do.
