I don't mean to hijack the thread or anything, but I was just wondering where you guys are getting all these natural feathers/fletching? I would love to do some natural fletched arrows, but I have no idea where to find a supplier.

Jack Skinner

My hunting partners and I shoot our own each year. I use the left wings they use the right. We split and grind our fletch. Also we put the word out at our local archery club, we get a lot of wings this way. Most folks just toss the wings after killing a turkey, or goose.

Don Stokes

Stingray, it's generally illegal to sell parts of game animals/birds, so most folks have to kill a bird of their own, or rely on friends who will give them the wings from birds they shot.

Fletching arrows with feathers from birds you have killed is good juju!

Onestringer, those arrows are just too pretty to shoot! Fantastic work.

If you put the word out and do folk a few favors they will save wings for you. This year I collected 64 wings, a huge bag of primaries from another guy and 8 fans to trade with David Mitchell.
