I was looking on that online classifieds site and this guy posted his site when i did a search for recurves.  They look pretty nice and the prices seem really good for the product, thanks ahead of time for any info on his bows and your opinions on them.   www.fatherstaplesbows.com

thanks

Hi Chad.

I emailed the guy a lot awhile back because I wanted a War Bow to mess around with. He seemed decent enough and I honestly didn't expect much.

For what its worth...a guy over on the *********** didn't have a very good experience. He said that everything went fine up until he received the bow. He requested 60# and got one that barely pulled 40 and apparently the guy never returned his emails.

I don't know what to believe over there anymore though. Take this for what it is worth. Personally I think you would be better off with a Rudderbow at that price.

I don't know anything about FatherStaples. I have been to his website before and he sells on evilbay.

I can tell you all about Jim at Rudderbows. Great guy, great products, very friendly, and knows his period era bows.

You can get a "in stock" longbow for as low as $110 bucks. I have a War Bow 100# at 28" from Rudder Bows. They make medievil arrows too.

Thanks for the info guys I haven't decided to order one yet but now I'll have to check out rudderbows.  If anyone has shot one if his I'd like to know how well they hold up.

I have made several bows from the kits from Rudder.  Great company and Jim will go the extra mile if you get into trouble or just need help.

I have owned a Rudderbow and liked it.  I also concur about Jim.  I would purchase from him again.

I took my foster son over to Rudderbows for a day of bowbuilding a few years ago.   Wonderful experience.   With Jim's help and guidance, he built a Native American double bow in one day and it shot, and still shoots, well.   It's a solid outfit that has been around for good while and has a solid reputation.

The chap who owns rudder bows now is a new owner,The previous owner sold it when he shipped out I believe,He has a new company called g.i .something I think.

gibows.com I think. I have seen their videos on You Tube. They talk about making bows in 20 minutes. Kind of scary if you ask me.

Jim at Ruddder Bows is the way to go.

I have had great service from Rudders with the exception of never receiving an invoice or packing list with my orders.

shikari - You're thinking of Bowstick archery. I think the owner's name was Justin and like you said got shipped out and sold Bowstick. When he returned he started G.I. Bow.  Fitting name for an honorable military man.
