Well, I was the fortunate winner of the St. Jude's auction for the custom Shrew from Gregg Coffey.  I got it the other day and it is absolutely gorgeous. I've posted some pictures below, but with my poor photography skills they really do not do it justice.  The riser is macassar ebony with black phenolic and the limbs are carbon/foam with curly koa veners. It is 61# @ my 31.5" draw. I went to the range yesterday and am blown away at how well this little bow shoots.  Even at my longish draw there is no hint of stacking.  I have never gotten a new bow that I was so accurate with right off the bat.  The grip fits my hand very well and feels completely natural. I was shooting better than I normally do with the bow I have been shooting regularly for nearly 3 years.  I love the take-down system.  It fits together tightly and so perfectly that you can barely tell it is not a one piece.  I have heard that short bows are generally not as accurate as longer bows so I intended this not as my primary hunting bow but rather for specialty use such as blinds and tree stands.  However after shooting it I think I am hooked on its manuverability, light weight and good manners.

Hey Gary. That is one sweet looking bow!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The old order is passing. Swiftly receding into memory are the days of strong, earnest men who followed an atavistic yearning to pit their skills against wild animals.

Very nice bow!  I have some months to go yet to get one.  You say it is a TD?  I don't see the split in the grip for the typical bow bolt.  Is it under the bottom edge of the grip or is Gregg doing a sleeve now?

It is the bow bolt system.  If you look real closely at the first picture there is a very faint line in the leather grip wrap where the two halve come together.  Gregg does such a nice job with this that it is not very visible.

That's a real beauty!  Congrats on the bow, and many thanks to Gregg for the work he does for such a fine cause.

That is a real beauty, Gary. I'm glad it is working well for you. I have not seen a Shrew with the Bow Bolt that is so unnoticeable where it is joined, including several that I own. Macassar and Curly Koa is one of my favorite combinations of woods. I am looking forward to hunting with you again and shooting our Shrews side by side. Enjoy the new bow.
