Does anyone know if Bear will still take a custom order? I'm curious if I could get a new Grizzly made in 65#? They are only listed as being offered in 60# and under for some reason.

You'll have to call Bear and see if they will.

I e-mailed; the response was no custom orders. So if I buy a new one, 60# is as heavy as I can get it.

I haven't had any luck with custom orders in the past.  However, Bear has been listening to customers lately and it is possible this policy could change.  Does Martin do custom weights?  If so, turn up the heat on Bear.  They are in a listening mood right now.

Martin (Damon Howatt) does do custom weight orders. They state it on their website. Click on the link below.

Keep in mind that a Bear bow marked as 60# could be as high as 62-63 or as low as 57-58#.
They round off all poundages in 5# increments. 45, 50, 55, 60 etc. Very few of the bows are the exact poundage marked. Two bows marked 50 pounds could vary 6 lbs, 2-3 on either side of 50.
If you find a dealer that has a couple of Griz in 60lb, ask them to measure the weights. You might get close to 65#.
