Hello! I live in South Eastern PA and am looking for somewhere to go this upcoming Deer Season. My first year hunting with a bow was last year and I shot at three deer and missed all three. (Pick a spot!) It was the most exciting time I have had in a long time.

Well, I have that crazyness going in my head again and am looking for some type of hunting camp for this upcoming season. I don't have a lot of money so I can't put a lot out for a lease. I want to talk to some other hunters that have experience. So finding a group of Traditional Hunters that would allow me to hang out and hunt at their hunting camp occured to me.

I am willing to drive anywhere in a 500 mile radius. If you have a plan to go hunting and could use an extra person along, please let me know. I have my tag for buck in PA already and need to send in for Doe in about 10 days. Yeah, I sent the request for a doe tag in the day I bought my buck tag. I was a month early. This is making me crazy!

Sounds to me that you need to get in touch with some local trad archers. I am sure that there must be some near you. Just one or two trad friends  can make the season much more fulfilling and fun. We have several Rod and Gun clubs nearby with archery ranges and at least one archery club. Not too many trad shooters but not all compound guys are 'bad"....in fact some on this site hunt with compounds, too....they just don't talk much about it.

Lancaster Archery can't be too far from you. They have  traditional store and I am sure they can put you in touch with other trad bowhuters.

If you lived closer to Louisiana .I could hook you up.I have 400 acres that border the mississippi river loaded with nice deer.

Killdeer - Its a matter of learning from others. I was lucky that one day I took the three shots. They walked under my stand and had no idea I was there. They never came back after that. I could see them 200 yards away, then they turned every time after. I was at the edge of the property so I had to suffer watching them everytime while in the stand.

Ronw - I would like to meet others that like the same thing I do. The hunting pressure is very high in this part of the state. I have asked many folks for permission to hunt their land but for the most part they have already allowed someone else to hunt it.

Ron - I don't want it to be luck but I like your moxie. I would like to be successful like the guys in the picture.

I belong to the Limerick Bowmen Club but have met only one trad hunter there. It was in passing at a general meeting. I am shooting the 3D course with my kids whenever I can. My skills are starting to improve. However, my kids show me up all the time. ((:
