I found a partially finished self-bow in a neighbor's attic when I was younger.  It was all done save for the finish and the handle.

The neighbor had no idea where it came from... may have been there when he moved in... so he let me have it.

I stained it orange, lacquered it up and laced up some leather on the handle and took it shooting.

Then hung it up.

I didn't know what stacking was back then, but this bow stacked... bad.

Maybe that's why it was left in an attic.

But it sure was pretty with that orange finish.  Almost looked like those old Game Getters.

Wish I knew where it was, just so I could share a picture.  Lost in one of my many moves, no doubt.

I know I'll get flack for this but the bow that had the worst manners of any I have ever shot is the "Little Delta Bow".  It is famous and I was privilaged to hunt with it and shoot a nice boar hog.  But dang it hurt to shoot.

The bow I shoot great but can't make quiet.

The bow that is to spine sensitive and unforgiving......

The bow that's beautiful but is more effective as a club because I can't shoot it.......

All of the above might be great for another archer....It's all subjective....

Keep it coming and don't be afraid to mention those recurves.

Some kinda 69" Jerry Hill longbow. There are still trees falling in the amazon from the hand shock that monstrosity produced. I was actually happy when it delaminated.

An old bear, recurve limb tips and hand shock. I was 16 and took my first deer with it.

Funny thing at the time I loved it. Didnt know about performance or handshock or arrow speed. nuff said   :archer:

I can't shoot a recurve to save my life, but both of my tries were on Bear Kodiaks and I have heard other people having trouble with them here.

I'm with bohuntr, the Ferguson Patriot, gave me the worst case of tendonitis ever, from the shock.

It would be the Acs cx bow.Only bow I have ever owned I could not shoot.Fast but my release is just not good enough for those noodle limbs.Fast don't mean anything if I can't hit what I want to with it.   :(

Never owned one but I shot a Jerry Hill bow once and just the memory of it still hurts my elbow today.     :scared:

I love the way they look but I can't shoot it worth a dime, Saluki Turk. Give me a Hill any day.

I've been lucky to have some nice bows. That way when I picked up a Martin ML14 at a sale and tried to shoot it I knew longbows weren't supposed to feel like that. I think the arrow was in the target and it was still vibrating.

I traded for a Sley t/d....beautiful bow and the craftsmanship was over the top. But I couldn't hit the ground under my feet with it. Got it on a Monday and traded it off that Friday. Funny thing is the guy that bought it was shooting softball sized groups at 20yds with it right off the bat

I've been pretty lucky with my bows. I had a second hand Northern mist superior that had a weirdo narrow wedge grip that I never could feel comfortable with. Don't think anyone could have.  Also, when I first started shooting trad bows, I got my hands on a PSE coyote. I shot it well enough, but went through 2 sets of limbs before I gave it up. They did replace them promptly and without much question each time though...

well it would have to be a fedora had the limb split in the core.

Worst one for me was the first tradbow I got - a Martin Mamba.

Probably didn't help that I had no idea what I was doing, what brace height I should have used, and using the wrong string for the wrong arrows...

My arm was black and blue for months, even with the arm guard.
