I really don't like anything else. HaHa.

I hate looking for the right arrow combo, making the arrows, sharpening the broadheads, tuning a new bow, making quivers....I just want to shoot and hunt and hang out with my hunting buddies. HaHa.

Just wondering if anyone else is like that? I wish I had a bottemless quiver that I could just pull ready made arrows out.

Nope not me, I luv everything about this lifestyle! The more I put into it, the more I get out of it

I am on the other end of the spectrum. I love all the steps that lead up to, and the shooting and hunting.  Hard work makes the experience all the sweeter for me.  I love making arrows, quivers, etc...  But then again I am a bit of a do it myself freak.  The only thing I don't like is sharpening my single bevel broadheads, fortunately KME helps me with that part.

I am by nature NOT a tinkerer. I can't fix squat. My way of fixing plumbing or house issues is to work an extra shift and pay for it....

Now this sport is the exact opposite! I love messing with arrows, building archery related stuff. Heck 3 years ago I didn't know what a feather chopper was. Now I'm teaching my kids how to make fletching out of the turkies we kill and wingbone yelpers for other folks. It is a lifestyle thing and other than my family life nothing gives me more joy than this sport of ours  :)  Oh yea, the shooting and hunting is the nuts too  ;)

I love it all. I made one bow and won't be making another because I don't have the space or equiptment for it. Otherwise I try to make all my stuff. I make and now sell a lot of leather goods for archery and really love being creative and making a product that could easily last hundreds of years. Frank

I wish I could have an attitude more like you guys. I actually only shoot one arrow at a time because I lose less that way...and I don't want to make more!   :D

Around here the fore play is better than the hunting!!!   :saywhat:    :biglaugh:

Nope, I love the fact that I'm always learning something new. Don't matter what I think I know, someone always proves there is more to learn!   :biglaugh:

I'm with Killdeer, but my wife doesn't like hunting or foreplay. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
Seriously, its all about the preparation for one chance/shot.

I must say that the Hunting is my favorite part of the equation.  And I enjoy shooting a lot.  The arrow building, tuning, and broadhead sharpening are part of the process, and they help fill in the gaps when I'm not DOING the shooting and hunting. I can also fletch with the size, shape and color of feathers that I want. Oh, yeah, I love reading and learning about the history of bowhunting.  But I'm a hunter;  if it weren't for the HUNTING, I probably wouldn't do any of the other stuff.  And I'm not particularly crazy about camping for camping's sake.

I also tie flies for fishing, but I wouldn't turn a single hackle if I wasn't going to cast it to a fish.....

Yeah, me. The day I bare shaft tune an arrow you can wheel me into the nursing home. Touch up your broadheads, get close, pick a spot... and spend the rest of the time enjoying nature and all its mysteries. Cheers, Don

Well I have to admit that I haven't hunted in a couple of years(just haven't had time) but still enjoy shooting. Same in that I do enjoy all types of fishing(fresh and saltwater) but have spent the last 7yrs competing in longcasting tournaments more than fishing. I to build my own arrows and bowstrings aswell as my own rods for tournaments and fishing.

Juan, I'm the same, I love shooting a bow but I'm not interested in the rest of it. I hate making arrows, simply not interested in doing it and more than happy to pay somebody else (who knows what they are doing) to do it for me.

I didn't even bother with the tuning, I just get an identical bow as my buddy and use the same arrows as him  :D

eric-thor

to me this is more than a sport its a way of life and theres not a part of it i dont want to experience and master . i becomes so personal when you make your own equiptment right now i make arrows next is strings than bows i cant wait to make my own bows.  :campfire:    :coffee:    :archer2:
