I was wondering did Martin or Damon Howatt ever make the "Hunter" in the 75-80# range?  I have a Martin Bushmaster that is 80# and thought I would enjoy a heavy weight Hunter more.

Always strive to do the right thing. Don't beat yourself down when you mess up. Ask for forgivness and keep on keeping on.

I have a #70 now and my best friend is giving me his #75 Hunter. Both of these bows were made in the mid 1980's.

That is a pretty sweet gift!  Martin/Damon Howatt are now only listing poundages up to 65#.

i beleive if you were to call them they could make a heavier pound hunter. there getting into more custum work!

A few years ago I had a 100# Hunter , I sold it to Marlon on here . Not sure if it was a store bought or special order though . Fred

WOW Greyfox54, that is one hefty bow.  I have to warm up for 80#, I don't know if I could ever warm enough for 100#  I'll have to give them a call.

I own and still shoot an 80# Howatt Hunter.

Any guess on what year your 80#er is?  Just doesn't seem like people use too many heavy bows anymore.

I have seen them in the 90+ pound range but those are rare.  They turn up around 70# pretty regular though.

Can you still special order the higher weights from Martin these days?  Or are they like everyone else that won't go beyond 65 or 70#s?

Damon Howatt is a division of Martin Archery. Damon Howatt on their website says they can make any poundage at any draw length for their bows so this should include a custom built 62" Hunter. The link to this statement is below.

I bought my 80# bow new in 1980.
