Looking for a set of Timber Rattler skins to back a bow. Does anyone have any they would like to sell, or know where they could be purchesed ?

I'm not sure if this is still the case, but I know Timber Rattlers used to be on the protected species list. You'd probably have better luck looking for the skins of a "Canebrake Rattlesnake" (almost identical snake...some even think they are the same snake). They are very similar, and unless something new has happened, I don't think they are on the list. I have a set on my long bow and they look great! Good luck, Matthew

They aren't protected in Georgia.

And no shortage of them either, they are pretty easy to find in early spring on rocky outcroppings or by rolling tin at collapesd home places. You need to be careful doing that though, although not as ill tempered as the eastern, a Canebrake/timber rattler bite is more venomous with much longer fangs.
