Hey folks could anyone use an infant bow in the making?

I did a little research this past fall and read up on how to start Osage(Hedge) trees. It was an interesting experiment that much to my surprise worked.

Boy howdy! Did it work!!!..lol I must have upwards of a hundred Osage seedlings that are ready to be moved from the starter bed to a permanent home.
I have 1st hand experience of how the state of Missouri ships seedlings since I've ordered stuff from them so it was easy for me to see how they prepared and packaged their seedlings for shipping.

If you think you could use a few I'd be more than happy to share these infant bows in the making for the cost of shipping.

Just contact me via.. whatever way you can with your shipping information. Be forewarned if I get an over whelming response things might go a little slow for you as I tend to shut down under pressure...lol

I wouldn't mind planting one or two out at the farm where the fig trees used to be!

I just paid a kings ransom to have two of those things removed from my property. Not a one had anything straight enough for one stinking stave! They were over 35' tall. I have 15 more that I want gone! Come on over and dig em up!

Nice offer Mudd. Do you think they could survive upstate NY winters? If so, I'd take a couple. Let me know what you think.

Mudd

I don't have a clue Daniel! Have you ever seen one anywhere near where you live? If so I'd say give it a go!

Here's another thought. Wow! You've kick started my ole brain early this morning...lol

I know my wife does this frequently as she's the real plant/flower person in our house...lol she does a thing with the computer where she looks up the plant she's wanting to know if its suitable for our zone. It seems to work for her!!

Let me know... or I can just mail you some and if they aren't hardy enough you can watch them grow until they die..lol

Just let me know.

God bless,Mudd
PS: I have requests to cover about 50 seedlings so far so I think I'll have enough for one or two more including yours.

mudd, I'd would love some of those baby bows! At the rate I've been cutting them down, I'm due to mother nature to give a bit back. Even if they do get cut down later. Hehe.i will be @ mojam or maybe even might make it out to your get together.

Mudd,

If you could bring a couple to Hermann I would take them...

Mudd,
Doesn't look like they would survive here. Better to send them to someone where they have a chance. Thanks so much for the offer though.

Mudd,
The info I found says they will grow in zones 4-9.
I'm in zone 9 and have mulberry trees galore. Since the osage is a member of the mulberry family Guess I'll try a few! Think I'll try and mold them as is done in bonsai to try and get the best staves for kids bows. Don't intend to let them get very big, don't want to be over run with hedge in my yard!

Live in zip 32922, PM me with shipping cost and I'll send payment, will PM shipping address.

Thanks, Hal

Mudd

I doubt shipping cost will be that much. I'd guess $10 but it's most likely going to be less than that.

All of them have been spoken for now. Assuming you take a few, if not then I might have 5 or so left.
