Anyone ever made a hat to look like a doe's head?

Saw some on a hunt Dwight Schuh did a few years ago in AK  but can't figure how to make one.

My dad and I are going to Kodiak in Aug and I'd love to make a set if possible.
Give me a bow a topo and two weeks, and I guarantee I kill two weeks!

The bold type is copied off of Bowhunter Magazine's website.  Good luck on your hunt!      Deer Hats  E.B., Lansing, MI: "On the August 3, 2006, program, the guys on Bowhunter Magazine TV were wearing deer hats. I have searched and can't find anything like it. Where did these guys get their hats? The hats obviously attracted rutting Sitka deer, but such a hat also would be the perfect touch with the camo tux I'm wearing to a friend's wedding."  Thanks much for watching Bowhunter Magazine TV. My friend Bob Ameen made those hats. I doubt that you'll find any commercial versions. Go to a fabric store for material, a crafts shop for eyes, and build the hat on a regular baseball-style cap. You should be the hit of the wedding. Good luck.  Dwight Schuh, Editor

I wouldn't ware it in the woods to hunt with when it's firearms season... You could be someones target.

I wouldn't wear it in PA woods anytime - even in the off season with all the poachers we got.

Lol - not good for Ohio public land either.

Though this past season during the 'bonus youth hunt' (read: youngsters possibly out for their first hunt w/ dad and a shotgun), some goober wearing tan from head to toe and using two trekking poles decided to hike through an area I was hunting.  He sounded like a big quadruped and was deer colored.

A doe hat would have completed his ensemble beautifully.

:knothead:  Sure wouldn't want to do that around here on Woodbury Land-----probably would get shot by "sound hunters!"  :banghead:

I have successfully stalked and taken muledeer with a cardboard cutout of a deers head; with part of the neck. I painted on eyes; and nose; and inside the ears and the throat patch.
You stalk or sneak up; and if the deer are alerted; you hold up the head pointing towards them.
I suppose painting the back of it in orange makes some sense...
I have though fooled a LOT of deer that way. Timing is everything- wait for the deer to relax to move up closer; and I also pull off small twigs to simulate the feeding sounds.
I would not wear a deer hat! Especially in the rut !!!!!!
THE VOICES HAVEN'T BOTHERED ME SINCE I STARTED POKING THEM WITH A Q-TIP.

Deer head hat - broadhead to the neck - dumb hunters = Bad Day Hunting.  I bet it would work great on the deer.  Just make sure there are no poachers or stupid hunters in your area first.

Hahaha, hope there are no KY gun hunters around on Kodiak, they'll shoot ya. Heard a story the other day a guy in his truck shot a doe out of season from the Walmart parking lot during daylight. LOL Oh boy.

The fulfillment of your hunt is determined by the amount of effort you put into it  >>>---->

don kauss

you could make suits that look like gargantuan acorns--->then you won't even have to stalk, just sit still and they can come to you!

you may want to check the Alaskan baiting regs though first...
Your Chicken from McDonald's, Tyson Foods, or Perdue Farms spent most of it's life stuffed in a cage with three or four others, occupying a space about the size of a book page...None for me, thanks...
