Anybody prefer the skinny axis-mfx bemens over cabon-expess heritage or other thicker shafts?????

I've been using some mfx heritage for about a month.  I don't know that I like them better, but I am very pleased with how they are performing thus far. I have had to prep the arrows a bit more to get feathers to adhere properly but that's really not a problem.

I love both Axis and MFX.  They fly great and are tougher than snot.  Last year a launched an Axis straight into a concrete loading dock (on accident)from about 25 yards.  It hit and bounced straight back at me about 8' and just laid there waiting to be shot again....still shooting it in fact.  The only problem is that they are just as easy to loose as cheap arrows.

Oh, by the way.  The bow was a 58# Selway Lil Magnum (the forerunner of the Centaur)so the arrow was smokin.

I bought a half dozen Beman Classics a few months ago.  Everyone seems to have good stuff to say about them, that's why I wanted to try them.  But I'm not really very impressed with them, they fly ok, not any better than my GT Trads do.  I don't really like the insert system either, mess up the end of the cabon shaft, arrow is junk, unless you shoot them 2 or 3 inches long.  They seem to penetrate a foam target a little better than a bigger diameter arrow does, in my opinion, not worth the extra money, I'll stick with my GT's.

Love those skinny shafts.

I go with Reaper do not like the insert system I seem to mess up the ends of the shafts also and thats in 3D targets.

I bought some on close-out to try them out, I shoot CE Heritage 150s most of the time! They do fly well and they definitly penetrate a target! I second on the hit insert not much of a fan of those, arrows seem quite durable though and I like the made the USA thing too! Shot some of them at Compton on Friday had no complaints!

Well, I gotta say I LOVE my Beman MFX Classics! I doubt I will ever shoot any other arrow, period. Mine fly as perfect as can be and are great at penetrating everything I shoot. I like to foot the end of mine with a two inch section of 2020 aluminum arrow for added strength in case I hit a rock. So far I've yet to damage an arrow at all.

Now that's a thought!  How do you attach the footing?

I am shooting Easton 600 Epic shafts and foot them with 2 inches of 2018 shaft.  I jsut rough up the surface a hair and glue them in place with epoxy.  Toughens them up a bit.

I love my new axis arrows.  They are the 500 spine.  I use the 75gr brass HIT inserts and anywhere from a 100-175gr tip.  I have a backstop behind my target that is made from old conveyor belt material.  All of my other arrows either bounce out or either barely stick in the backstop when I miss the target(happens quite often).  My axis on the other hand penetrate  through it and the 1/2" pine fence material behind the backstop( usually sticks about 2" through).  So far, I have not had any break on me.
