Alpine ibex, beautiful!

This is the South,italian side,home of perennial glaciers,climbers,hard core ultra marathon runners skiers and too many hunters.Here is home of many wild games:with the chamois as the royal prey,then roe deer,red staq,mouflon and wild mountain boar that can climb this mountain like a sheep.The ibex is majestic and the perfect game to hunt with a bow,but it is very difficult to get a licence,pretty expensive too.

The trail head in Alagna Valsesia,a still untouched mountain village with 500 years old stone and wood cabins.

   

Not many people realize that Italy is not only sea and pizza.I live closer to paris than Naples,Mounchen than Rome,London than Palermo.

There are seasons to hunt Ibex as well as Oryx in New Mexico.  Any other states with Ibex & Oryx populations?  I didn't draw into either hunt this year.
By the way, these pics remind me of where I was stationed in Italy - nothern Italian Alps, beautiful country & people (oh, & the BEAUTIFUL women!!)
