Easton Gamegetter XX75

I am currently shooting 500(2016) Easton Gamegetters from my 40# Bear Grizzly. Just wondering if anyone shoots the 400(2117) with similar draw weight with any success. I can get a real good deal on these 400's. Thinking about giving them a try. Thanks in advance.

I think even the 500's are alittle on the stiff side for a 40# Bear.The 400's would be way to stiff,even if you left them full length with about 200 grrs. up front.Then you would be shooting around a 600 gr. arrow from your 40# bow.

So do they act like carbons when tuning or Almun's.

The reason I ask is 2016"s flow great out on a 50# bow I had, If 2016"s aren't for 50-55# bows then what is?

I shoot 2016's out of a 46# recurve, cut to 28" with 145 grains up front. Shoot like darts. Tried 2018's and they were a bit stiff. Bows are kind of like guns in that each one seems to like different bullets.

He asked about a 40# bow and now were talking 50-55# bows?

I think they would be too stiff. I shoot 400's out of my 55# recurve.

The 2117s would be way too stiff for the 40# Griz. I shoot the 2016s out of a 50# Howatt recurve drawing 28 and shoot the 2117s out of a 55# Howatt Mamba recurve.

I shoot 2018s with 125-grain points at 29.5 inches out of two 50-poound recurves and 59# Pronghorn longbow. I can shoot 2117s out of the longbow but they are about 31 inches long with 150-grain points. I would bet the 2117s would be way too stiff for a 46# recurve unless you put a lot of weight up front and shot a long arrow.

I agree that 2117 is way too stiff for 40#. My gal shoots 31" 2016's w/145gr out of her 40# recurve....that way they work for me too !

I would think a 1916 (or equivalent) would suit that weight bow better.

I'm with huntryx on this,I would go with 1816's or 1916's,the 2016's and 2117's should be way to Stiff for a 40# Bow,

1916=600+ spine (about 640, I would guess)

A couple of years ago I shot a huge doe at 17 yards with a 2117 out of a 43# Bear Grizzly. Don't tell the dead deer they were too stiff to shoot. However they were pretty heavy and at the time the only thing I had lying around to shoot so I used them. I shot them all summer and fall and they actually flew nice.

OK then, let me ask it this way then. I am new to archery and I love shooting my bow. I recently started shooting between 500-700 arrows a week trying to get ready for this upcoming deer season. Since I am new to instinctive shooting I seem to get a flyer every now and again ( go figure right) that ends up either bent or broke.

Does anyone have any suggestions on arrows that won't break the bank so I can continue to practice as much as I want. I am going to upgrade to nicer arrows before the season starts, but I need something that doesn't make me cringe when I see sparks fly (if there is such a thing).

How about the xx75 Blues? They seem to come in 1916's and are about half the price as other xx75's.

You'll wanna train with the same arrows that you intend on hunting with due to the fact that different arrows will behave differently. It may not save you any money, but it will save you frustration of shooting more than one arrow setup.
