Who ever thought that such a generous gift donated by nine year old Delaney would be the stimulus towards upwards of EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS being raised to benefit the children of St. Judes.

I'll bet she never thought her donation would go over the way it did.  It just goes to show you that you never can tell what might happen when your heart is in the right place.

A BIG THANK YOU TO MISS DELANEY AND ALL WHO HELPED THE KIDS.

Yep, this all came about as a result of the kindness and generosity of a wonderful 9 year old girl. Through her, we all have learned how much good can come from what at first might not seem like a big deal.
Way to go Delaney!!  You are an inspiration to everyone who followed along the last few days!

little D,

You done good...in fact you were a spectacular inspiration to all of us.  It's not the size of the gift but the size of the heart that counts.

Thanks...tippit

Way to go Delaney!

It was great to watch the bids go up for such a great cause.

To all the bidders, and to our head poundcake baker... Great job!  You are true inspirations.

Looks like the right person picked up the torch. Many thanks for your efforts Delaney...and my hat is off to all you gentlemen who always seem to make me proud of my friendship and association with you. Well done by all.

That pound cake war was one of the most delightful threads to follow from a distance and there are always a few of those.

Delaney didn't just offer to make pound cakes. Let's remember she offered to make 4 of them...and then when it hit a few hundred dollars, she upped it to 12, increased by a factor of 3x, for one a month for a year!

I'm saying that is in and of itself, something pretty remarkable for such a young person to have that sense and heart about her.

Cudos to her and to her parents.

Of course, those wild men who ran the two "corporations" to bid that to the moon, well...   :notworthy:  to one and all!
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!
