Due to the small diameter of these shafts, I am curious when a broad head is utilized; say a 125gr Zwickey two blade, will it not fit smooth up to the end of the shaft? Is there any issues when pulling the shaft out of targets?

My setup for these shafts: 60" Centaur, 47# @ 28". Cut to center. I want to utilize a 125gr broad head.

Also, I pull this bow to 29" so, I am a little confused if I should be using the 400 or the 500 shaft. Any help greatly appreciated.    

Nope... BUT I have noticed that using a small shaft on bow cut past center really effects windage... could be just me though...

I don't know why it wouldn't fit smooth up to the end of the shaft.  Unless maybe when your insert was glued in it slid forward just a smidge before the glue was set.

Also no trouble pulling my Magnus two blades out of the target.

I'm shooting a 50# bear kodiak hunter drawn to 28" and I use the 500 cut to 28.25" with 200gr point and the flight for me is great.

If you are only using 125 grain tips, you can easily get field tips that are the same diameter as the shafts.  When using broadheads, the ferrule is usually wider than the shaft.  Use the proper size bor broadhead adapter ring.  This makes the difference minimal.  Pulling broadheads out of the target is not an issue, as you are usually shooting into foam.  The only issues that you run into is if you are shooting into a bag with field tips that are too wide.  You can't get field tips that are the same diameter in the heavier weights.  Usually the best that you can do is get 5/16 tapered field tips.  Once again, the broadhead adapter rings(BAR) make up the difference.  As far as your setup goes, With only 125 grain tips, I think that you probably would need the 500 spine, unless you plan on leaving your arrows very long.

Easton makes a broadhead adapter, weighs 3 grs. makes everything flush. Also helps keep arrow from splitting, can also use your regular field tips with them.

I was looking through some of my arrows and, found these Beman MFX 500 shafts I had gotten with a bow trade some time back. Last night I cut them to 30" bop, and today, I fletched them w/5" LW shield cut feathers. I also installed the HIT 75/50 gr (utilizing the whole 75grs) inserts and with 125gr tips. My arrows, AMAZINGLY, came out to 510gr even. No kidding!    :eek:    
 
 

I have not shot them yet, as the epoxy needs to set a little longer. I will post shooting results once they set.    

I shoot the Easton ST Axis 500. My bow is a A & H take down hybred. 47#@27"  I use a 175 gr point with the ring adapter. They ae cut at 29". If you don't you will tear up your 3D targets and sometime won't pull out of bag targets. My arrows weight 504gr. They shoot like darts and almost go through my bag target.

Craig, thanks for the info. I'm tossing it around between the Easton's and the Bemans. I'll just have to wait and see how these fly first.  

Reading Dr. Ashby's studies you want the broadhead ferrel a little larger than the shaft to decrease drag, for targets as mentioned the adapter ring makes it easier to pull.

How are you tuning your arrows for great flight? You said you cut them to 30" and will see how they fly. Straight arrow flight is extremely important for penetration. The MFX shaft has a higher grain per inch and makes a heavier arrow and will tune weaker at the same length as the axis. You will want your field point fletched shafts to group right with your broadhead fletched shafts.

Ok, I just got through shooting the shafts. Holy Smokes! These things flew like, well, ARROWS!    I am going to stick with the Bemans. I rarely ever get something right on the first go around but, man I'm glad I found these shafts amid my others. I am going to order some of the Broad head Adapter Rings before using the broad heads.

Those  Bemans look nice, I am shooting Heritage 150s but would like to try those Bemans!

I was shooting the Heritage 150's and change to the Easton Axis. The Axis are more superior, hit hard and faster

Wannabe1, I sanded down the rings on my belt sander to match up with my points. they are a little larger then the point.
