Major Paul Brown; my great uncle; died on the Bataan Death March.
Mark Schmidt, died Dec 1967; shot down in Vietnam
Jim Moore, died Mar 1968, rocket attack, Vietnam

If it wasn't for American effort and blood and sweat and tears in WW2, I for one would not exist. My heartfelt thanks go to those veterans and their fallen comrades.

Too many sacrificed and remembered lives to even begin to list all the relatives now gone from WWII, Korea, and then a gnarly list of personal friends lost in Vietnam... and then the more current conflicts with young ones lost that I did not know.

Suffice it for me to be grateful to all who have served this country valiantly, living, wounded or deceased, who over the many wars, hot and cold, paid the price to preserve what we now seem to watch be jeapordized without the appropriate rage.

Would like to mention two of my uncles. Jack & Tam. Both served in the Navy. Neither died in the war but were on the same ship which was sank. Both survived in the water for over a week. Both have passed since and are missed by family & friends.

I would like to thank my father-WWII Army Air Corps,my uncle Bill-WWII air force and those I served with in the Army in '70-'72.
To all who served and especially to those who gave their all. Thank you for your service.

My roommate at the U.S. Naval Academy - Vince Smith, Capt. USMC - killed in the Beirut barracks bombing.  His wife went on to marry another Marine and their son graduates from the Academy today and receives his commission as a 2LT in the Marines.

My father-in-law Henry Yokum, Pvt. 1st Class who passed away in Spetember.  He was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge in WWII.  I participate in our local communities Memorial Day Service as a Pastor and last year he carried the wreath out for the ending.  I didn't know it would be his last time.  Being an Air Force vet myself I'm grateful I never had to face what he did.

Sgt. Travis Shaull US Army, 160th Special Ops Aviation Group "the Nightstalkers" Iraq and Afganistan 2001-2005.  He made it through and all the time he was there along with all the soldiers and marines they are in my prayers.
