while visitng with my buddy Ron W we were shooting the bow and i happened to have the new Primative Archer mag with me. i commented to Ron boy must be nice to have the skills and be able to have the skills and just whip up a "shrew like" bow shown in the build along by Marc St. Louis. Ron took a look at it and said gee thats really nice. while we continued shooting the b.s. for awile untill i had to leave. i was borrowing a bow from Ron to shhot a bit. he said hold on let me get you another bow to try. out he brings a selfbow (board bow" in the reflex/deflex design like the one in the artical, i was floored!!! while i pulled it but and was amazed by how smooth it was and couldn't wait to shoot it. when i got home i took an assortment of arrows and starting shooting the lights out of the targets!! i mean like i never have before!!!! unreal shot after shot and i am by NO MEANS a good shot. i started to think i might have found the most unusual "magic bow" for me that i could even fathom!!!! i continued to just punish my target with an assortment of spine and weight arrows. i could Ron astounded by the bows performance!! told him man i got to have this bow!!!!!!! he said that bow had been on his rack for a couple years and had been resurrected 3 times by another member and himself. i will leave that unique story to Ron to tell. i know he had used osage and bamboo flooring, hopefully he will add a little more to the descrption. it is 62 inches and pulls #53@28. i do not know how long thelife span of this bow will be due to the quique way it was made but i plan to honor it will as many hunts as possible. got to take it out yesterday and was ohhhh sooooo close to letting and arrow go at a longbeard! here are a few pic's and i will add more. Ron my friend i don't know what to say or how to repay you but i most certanily am glad to call you friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ken Don't let your wife shoot that thing!  Ron fixed a bow for my wife and now you're not the only one that outshouts me   :smileystooges:

I hope to have the honor to help drag the first hog or deer out of the woods you sling with Resurrection. We are all fortunate to have a friend like Ron.

ps next time I come over you need to promise to string up Ressi and let me have a round with her.

Geez Ken, You never take me to the place in the mountains where all these bows are laying around.  You must be keeping those spots secret.

Great Pics.

Did you see the bird that guards those eggs?
And what are those plants...?
Kenny, you always bring me more questions!

Glad that your Magic Bow found you.

That's what I was thinking. Now... Wood or Hermit thrush?

You sure do have a nice place to go stumping. Around here I would be arrested.

arrrhhhhhh I would have to say wood (unless yer just busting me!) as we were on top of a mountain. if they tried to arrest me it means that they would be lost too, just ask Charlie!!! hope to share the woods with ya some day even if you do work for the dark side!

Now the rest of the story......First, Ken your make'n me blush! That bow was first glued up by Ken Thornhill [KAT on here] and after a tillering error he was going to scrap it. I said oh no your not Bamboo backing cost to much let's see if I can save it. I sawed it off and reglued up another bow, which during a tillering error...lol it was ruined again.[Lots of tillering errors]. One more time I sawed off the backing to try to save the bamboo. Now all this work is make'n the backing narrower. This last chance I said lets go for it,heavy R/D, narrow limb and center shot everything you really should avoid in a bow like this. its Boo backed, bamboo flooring ,osage and bamboo on the belly. The belly boo was all most tillered away but some still remains. I shot it some and then kinda lost interest in it. Its been on the rack for 4 or 5 years untill I gave it to Ken. He got all goofy and gave me that toe in the sand routine. I hope he kills a bunch of stuff with it. It may last 10 years or maybe 10 minutes. Enjoy it ADKKen..........   :goldtooth:
