I need a bowcase since I am planning a trip flying to the US. It will be for a 62" recurve. Anybody has some recommendations? The bowcases from three rivers seem too short, since they are only 59" long.
Or are you allowed to take a bow with you in hte plane, when it's in a sock?

I use pvc to transport all my one piece bows.

Flying with a one piece bow is such a huge hassle that I would seriously consider buying a new bow for your trip.  The airline luggage handling systems do not do a good job handling long skinny packages.

I flew with a buddy a couple of years ago and when his hard case came out it was missing one end.  I have heard numerous similar stories from others around here.  

Also, the bow will be an extra bag and you will be subject to additional fees both on the way here and on the way back home.  Get yourself a takedown bow that can be packed inside another piece of luggage and use the excess baggage fees that you save to help pay for the new bow.

If you absolutely insist on using the one piece bow I would ship it ahead of time instead of trying to fly with it.

Why don't you ship it to the outfitter or someone on Trad Gang that lives where you will be landing.

Ship it early and save the headaches.

I agree with everything Whip said on getting a takedown bow. You will thank yourself if you do.

I'd go with shipping it ahead of time, and/or getting a td bow.  It won't help with a one-piece, but the best soft-side bow case I know of for a td bow is the Safari-Tuff case.

Shipping a bow ahead and back will cost me €200,-at least. That's also a hughe amount of money. Thanks for all the input guys!
