Here's what I got up to at this years Tennessee Classic.
I bought the blank from David Knight  www.primalneedarchery.com  (hence the name) on Friday at the the Classic. The Bamboo backed Ipe blank came glued up with no tips, totally square & only floor tillered. This takes a huge chunk of the complicated stuff out of the equasion for beginners like me! Over the course of the weekend, well, Friday & Saturday, I had to try & beat the flooding home on Sunday morning, with the help of David, Alex Roché (Bear), Wade, Pat B & others I had a shootable bow. Unfinished, but shootable. The bow was tillered to 66#@32" to give me a safe margin of error for my 30" draw. At 30" it's bang-on 60#

Once I got home & dried out, I applied a coat of Medium Brown leather dye to the bamboo & overdyed the tips & riser with black. I've applied 11 layers of Tru-Oil to give a ridiculously glossy fnish! The riser is wrapped inflat leather thonging dyed various, random shades of brown & treated with neetsfoot oil. The arrow rest is made from one of the tips from the little spike buck I shot last year.A muzzleloader kill, but my first ever whitetail buck!

Hope you like the pics as much as I'm enjoying the bow!

Glossy!

Very nice job!!!   Dang, that arrow looks to be 4 foot long.   :)

Excellent bow!! I like how you did the grip and rest, very cool and unique. Great full-draw pic showing perfect tiller. That does look like one of those "Avatar" arrows. Lol! Congrats on an awesome bow!  :notworthy:    :clapper:

That's a sweet bow there man, I wish I knew anything about making a bow but with that one I might give it a try.

Way cool Rob!!!! Did you get to meet any other tradgangers at the Classic?

Weezy and his son Scottm where there and Weezy made his 1st selfbow there too.

I learned that an old friend(Colene Simmons) from Sneedville Tenn. was there too. She's a character and one who can build and shoot a selfbow with the best of them.

Nice job on your bow. You didn't mention how it shot?

God bless,Mudd

It's 66" nock to nock, 67" OAL

Mudd; LOTS of TGers at the Classic, although I probably missed 99% of them in the rain!

The bow shoots very fast & very hard!
I'm more used to my carbon/foam Morrisons & without being all sciencey, the speed is definately comarable, with the same arrow. I'd conservatively guess 180 or better, with a 720gn arrow. I know my Shawnee hit's a touch over 200  with that arrow, if I do my part right.
