I have a Jaguar Owens Turk (circa 1960), 38#, 68" recurve. Could someone perhaps help me with the recommended braceheight. I have looked for hours online - no joy. Thanks

You might get better response on the collector/history forum. Good luck.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Looking at some sites on basic bow setups, I see the following advice: For 68" recurves - between 8 and 9.5 inches. Also, someone recommended the bow length divided by 8 as a rough guide - which brings this bow out at a 8.5" braceheight.
How does that sound?

So you have a photo of it strung? I haven't seen a 68" wooden strung recurve bow during the last 40 years.

Here are some - shoots smoothly - a bit lighter than 38# - but then the bow is more or less 45yrs old.

That is a beauty of a bow!    :)   I like it!!    :D   And I love the 38# poundage. I've never seen a Turk bow in a 68" length. A diamond in the rough.    :clapper:
