I recently bought a second-hand bow without a string. I have a few questions as some of the markings have come off the limb. Does anyone know anything about this bow - specifically the BRACE HEIGHT?
The markings are: Jaguar in an oval, a triangualar 'stamp' with what appears to be a name starting with AX
Then Turk, NIT-797, 38#
See pics below. Thanks

Your pics are very hard for me to see. However, it looks to me to be an old Bruno bow. He made bows in Coney Island, NY. If is not one his them my next best guess would be Tri State Archery in Conn.

I can't say this is the make or model of your bow but Martin archery made a Jaguar.

Bigger pics would be nice but not necessary. A magazine ad from 1960. Your bow is on the right.

Here is where I found the ad and a closer look at the bow. Hope it helps.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

It draws VERY smoothly. Anybody have an idea what the brace height should be?
