How thick, or thin do you like the base on your feathers?  I like a really thin base, but when using  natural turkey feathers, the feathers are not as stiff as they are with a thicker base.

I like a thin base also and once I chop them they are plenty stiff. I cut low profile and that helps keep them feeling stiffer. Drew
