Shooting in the back yard the other night. Went to pull out my arrows, and this is what I found. Just a bag target-- nothing solid (notice the tip). Never saw this before, have you?

Hmmmmm. Queer as a sock full of bees....

What shaft is it? Looks like a GoldTip.

Looks like a cosmetic flaw in one of the blems.   :biglaugh:
....Quality deer management means shooting them before they get tough....

I have been shooting carbons for a LONG time and have NEVER seen anything like that, crazy stuff happends I guess, lol.  I have hit "stuff" inside bag and foam targets, some type of metal or something, I would hear a clink and see a flat feild tip when I retreived my arrow?  Mabye that is what happened and you had a minor weak spot in the shaft???  Just shooting crap out my booty . . .

That was probably caused by being hit by another shaft on a previous shot. Then being weakened, it broke on impact on later shot.
This usually happens on bag targets. Many times arrows in a bag target hang/lean down in the target, that makes them more likely to be hit on a later shot.
Carbons are tough, but they can not take any side impacts.
Bag targets can be bad on carbons.

I measured the shaft and it compressed 3/4". That baby is solid too...ya can't budge it. And yes it was one of the "blem" shafts.
