Does anybody know much about bear arrows. A friend picked some up at an auction and he has asked me to find out anything on them. He is going to get weight, length and material info for me, but thought I would ask for any basix=c info to start.

Some were wood, some fiberglass, which do you have?

Bear also had alum. the Bear metric magnum.

Wood I believe. Have not seen them and the owner is going to get me more info today.

My experience has been that the best thing to do is try them out.  If they work well out of your bow, then shoot them and enjoy them.
 
Bear arrows have virtually no collectable value unless they have razor heads on them.  Then you can remove the razor heads and sell them.

If they are fiberglass, flex/bend them to check for cracks before you shoot.

Thanks guys. My buddy will be disappointed there is no value in them. He paid $50 at the auction for a dozen. They do have field tips on 6 and broadheads on the other 6. Have to see if they are razors or not.

Some Bear heads are worth a lot of money.

In the past I have used old Bear cedar arrows for hunting.  I just refletch them. Killed many deer with those old yard sale arrows.

It is most likely that they have Bear Greenies on them.

The wood arrows made by Bear were high quality.
There is no reason to be dissappointed. 50 bucks for a dozen quality wood shaft complete with 6 broadheads is a good deal. Add the fact they they are Bear arrows and the cool factor goes up.

I bought my twelve year old son some Bear arrows, complete with greenies on them, and they are his most prized posession...never been shot.

He doesn't shoot. He buys and then resells stuff from auctions. Was thinking the arrows would have some value from the name. Will get more detail hopefully soon.

I've seen a good dozen of old Bears bring close to $200, so don't say they have no collector value. It all depends on age and condition, and who's buying.
If you are going to shoot them, switch out the nocks, they get brittle with age.

I have 8 Bear cedars, 6 with green razorheads. I have shot the field tipped shafts, but just enjoy having the razorheads. I have them attached to my Bear spring arm quiver. I'm not a collector, but I still love the old Bear stuff. Someday I may have to get a Bear recurve and attach the springarm and Bear shafts to it. Remember those thrilling days of yesteryear!

Also contains small flyer with picture of Fred with a black bear and an advertisement for Razorheads, dated 1958.

Box and arrows are in excelent condition and he says may never have been used.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
