I just got to wondering how many folks out there have an Arkansas Stick made by Terry hughes of Gurdon, AR. Cousin ArkyBob and I are big fans and have 1 or 2 each. If you have one, post up and post pics if you have them.

I have a 50# short Caddo that I shoot fairly often. I also have a 68# Charmer that I like but it's too heavy to shoot very much. Love them both and would have more if they become available. I'll post pics up of them both when I get back home.

I hear he's making bows again but haven't seen them yet.

I do not have, but I have read about them and would like to track one down.  I saw him listed a while back, but dunno if he's still making bows.  Any idea?

Didn't Roy Hall take over making these bows?

ArkyBob

That's right Preacherman.  Roy bought out Terry Hughes several years ago.  However Terry is now making bows again with the name of Bull Mountain.  I have 2 of Terry's original Arkansas Sticks, both Caddo's, that are as good as any bow I have shot.  Also he is a really good guy to talk to and visit with.

Surely ArkyBob and myself aren't the only ones that have ever had an AR Stick. .

Have one of the early ones, 56#@28" in 62 inch length.  Constructed from Black Locust lams and clear glass with a walnut handle. Labeled Arkansas Stick, "Little Sticker".  Do not have any idea the age but still shoots good.

I have a Caddo , my first custom bow made in 91.
will not get rid of it !!! red elm limbs and walnut riser.

I've never heard of the "Little Sticker" before. I'd love to see pics. (Yes, I know, I was supposed to post mine up, too.)

I think it was a Caddo that was my first longbow to ever shoot. I had sold my compound and had a custom Bighorn recurve. A friend at work said he had a longbow he would sell. I told him to bring it and let me see it. He came back the next day and had decided not to sell it but he agreed to let me shoot it anyway. My recurve was 55# and the longbow was 65#. I shot that longbow better than anything. It was SO quiet and SO SO light in the hand. I fell in love with longbows then and haven't looked back.

Hmm. I need to try and contact that feller to see if he's ready to sell it yet. It's only been 10 years or so ago.

I have a charmer, 64" 62@27 red cedar lams bamboo cores,I went to Terrys house and picked it up...  man, I killed alot of deer with that bow, its pretty much retired now..they are dead quiet, the grip is perfect for me, I know Bill Wray from Co./ark shoots a charmer I believe as well...here's mine, a little battle scarred, but it did kill its share!!

I have a real early Arkansas Stick recurve from the 80's.  I'm not sure if it was made by Terry Hughs or not.  If someone can identify it that would be great.  Thanks...Doc
