Don't leave your damn bow in the truck!
       
We got all the way to the spot (about 3 miles from the dock) dropped the trolling motor and saw 3 grass carp about 3 feet long and as big around as a soccer ball. That's when I remembered what I'd forgot. Saw lots of fish but nothing to brag about. Bet I never do that again.

Not fishing related but a couple weeks ago Dad, brother, family friend and myself go for a weekend turkey hunt. Get settled in on Friday afternoon at the trailer. Start getting stuff together to go set up for evening hunt when brother starts cussing. He forgot his case that had his broadheads in it. No one had any extras that were the right weight so had to drive an hour to find some.

I was gonna say "aim "low", but I think that's rule #2.    

Don't leave the bow behind is definitely #1.  

If ya still had the arrow then ya could have tried the Atladal trick.

Yeah I'm being funny because I couldn't hit the broad side of the barn standing next to it with an Atladal.

I thought rule #1 was don't drop your bow in the water.
I know a guy who lost a old Bear takedown that way.

Important safety tip!  Of course it presupposes that you brought your bow in the first place.  

I was thinking maybe ya forgot to tie the line to the arrow but...

a couple of days ago, i took my father turkey hunting.  he hunts with the shotgun and im a bowhunter only.  being that i have all the equipment and know how, i told him to just bring a headnet, gloves and wear camo.  we hike about a mile to where i had a bird roosted.  bird starts gobbling at daybreak and im thinking it going to be a great day.  i set him up, hand him the shotgun and reach into my turkey vest were i held his shells (or so i thought).  i had forgot his shells!  we laughed and hiked back to the car, got his shells, hiked all the way back to the turkeys area and couldnt find him (probably found hens and clammed up).  my dad asked me how i forgot bullets and i told my dad im a bowhunter and my "shells" are always attached to my bow in a quiver.

If it makes you feel better we forgot the oars for a rafting trip ONE TIME!!

I got 3/4 of the way to where I was planning on hunting Wed morning when the thought went through my head "I don't remember loading up my arrows".

I pulled off the road put the brake on and jumped out and did a quick once over the entire truck and sure enough... no arrows. Back to the house, grabbed my arrows and headed back out. It was late-thirty by the time I reached the woods.

I thought rule #1 was to put the plug in the boat before it goes in the water  

My first rule is don't shoot the super annoying brother in law no matter how much he deserves it!  Wait, it is don't let him come in the first place, no wait...................

Rule #1. Make sure there is enough room on the BOTTOM of the boat to hold everybody that is IN the boat.

Well it's better to leave your bow in the truck before bowfishing than to leave it on top of the truck after bowfishing.
