Well everyday I am itching for elk season, so one of the things that help me make it through the day are to look at elk pictures lol.
Now i havent been fortunate enough to kill an elk yet but I was hunting with my friend when he killed his. It was a BIG 5x5 bull that he took with his browning recurve. He was just in a regular t shirt, jeans, and skater shoes when he killed this monster.. No camo or scent block or or blinds or tree stands... his luck on everything is truly unbelievable. Oh and he was 17 when he shot it too.. It was many hours of gutting and hauling meet.. Luckily it was only a half mile or so from the car..
I would love people to post there elk bow kill photos, love to see ones i havent seen before..
Anyways here is my friends elk, look for the arrow in the back:
I'd rather hold a recurve than shoot a compound

Knowing my friends luck hes gonna get a 6x6 next year and continue this pattern... lol

I'm jelouse guys, the last Elk I got was in 92' & it was with a rifle.  :(

I want to go to Montana or Colorado to get me a nice Elk with a bow so bad it hurts but I need to be a good Dad/Husband & be patient for my needs.

:D

The only elk I've ever SEEN in the wild were a group of cows bedded and chewing their cud at about 900 yards....out of season.  :D

This is my personal all time favorite hunting photo of an animal I took.  I said in the Florida thread that I have learned very seldom do we do anything on our own without the help, encouragement support and guidance of others. This was two years ago.

Like everyone else I count down the days until elk season.  Got a nice 6x6 last fall which I shot at 6 yards with my pronghorn 3pc longbow.  Although chasing elk is one of the more exhausting things you can it's amazing how relaxing it is at the same time.  Great stress release
